When you are first starting to crochet, three of the main stitches you will be working with are Single Crochet (SC), Half Double Crochet (HDC), and Double Crochet (DC). Please keep in mind for this tutorial I will be working with the US versions of these Stitches. If you are using a pattern that is from the UK make sure to take a look at a conversion chart because their DC is our SC and so forth. It can get very confusing, I learned that the hard way!
Terms to know!
Working yarn – the yarn that leads back to the ball of yarn
Yarn over – Taking the working yarn and laying it over the hook. I do it from the furthest side of the hook to the closest side because it is easier to catch the yarn with your hook.
Hopefully these written steps as well as video tutorials were helpful for you. If you have any questions or suggestions about what my next tutorial should be please comment or contact me!
