    My First Craft Fair!

I recently participated in my first craft fair! Super exciting, right?! A church that has adopted my husband while he goes through his seminary education invited us to come visit them. They also informed me of their fair that weekend and gave me the chance to set up a booth. I figured this was a great opportunity to get my feet wet and try out the craft fair scene. I have been super nervous to get out there in the real world to sell my product, but it felt hard to say no to their offer and I am so glad I said yes! This fair was definitely a learning…

    I Finished My First Wearable!

A few weeks ago, I was getting ready to send off a care package to my Sister-in-Law. She is extremely pregnant, so I wanted to be sure that I included something fun for her and not just cute stuff for her babies. So I texted her and she jokingly asked how long it would take for me to make a cardigan. I, of course being the crazy person I am, thought now would be the time to dive into a massive project. I mean, why not? She wants one and I love her because she is my sister. Plus she is pregnant and pregnant girl gets what she wants. So…

    Simple Crochet Pumpkins for beginners!

It is officially almost fall! In crafting and creating years that means I am already behind on my crocheting! I love to have my decorations up at the beginning of September, which is only a few weeks away. Honestly, though, I will probably use a fall color pallet as my home decor when we move into our permanent home because I love fall that much. When you think of fall all kinds of things come to mind. Fall is the time for festivals, corn mazes, Halloween, crunchy leaves, and PUMPKINS! Soon every Starbucks will be serving pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkins patches will be opening their gates, and every grocery store…

    Same Pattern, Different Yarn

The past few weeks I have been diligently working away at crocheted gifts for the new little ones in my life. My book best friend and many of my relatives are having babies this fall, and I have been horribly busy with other projects and have pushed back working on their gifts. But I have started and am almost finished! I wanted to do something unique for each of them, but did not want to learn lots of patterns in a short period of time, so I decided to do the same pattern with all the different fun baby yarns I am always seeing at Michael’s! I have had my…

What’s in My Bag? Crochet Edition!

I was scrolling through Pinterest looking at all kinds of fun blog ideas and came across a ton of lifestyle bloggers doing a “what’s in my bag” post. All these ladies have just about the same thing, some lip gloss, sunglasses, and their wallet, so I figured I could shake things up a bit and share what I lug around all day in my giant crochet bag! What’s in my Crochet Bag?   Yarn, Yarn, YARN I keep all of the colors of yarn I am currently working with in my bag. I always seem to need a color that I left at home or that I have run out…

FREE PATTERN – Mrs. Mouse Key Chain

“And I’ll know he’s the one when he makes me laugh” – Minnie Mouse   This adorable key chain is the companion to the Mouse Key Chain pattern I posted a few weeks ago. If you didn’t see that pattern and want to, click here! This pattern is intended to be a fairly simple design, but she does have a few more pieces to her than her gentleman counter part so she does take a bit longer than he does to make. The design also does not require the key chain add on, I just thought it added a nice touch.   Pattern notes – The final product should be…

    Using Crochet to Manage Stress

As someone who has lived their whole life as a high stress human, I am always searching for ways to not only relieve my stress and anxieties, but also learn to manage them in a constructive way. I would love to be the kind of person who isn’t set off by the smallest things and fixates on tiny details. I drive myself insane with worry and stress all day, everyday. I am not a naturally a calm person, BUT I have learned (and am still learning) ways to control my stresses. Stress does not have to control me. And one of the tangible things that has helped me is crochet!…

FREE PATTERN – The Mouse Keychain

I got the idea for this pattern this past week while I was working on my giveaway dwarves. They were small, quick, and easy – some of my favorite qualities in a pattern! I don’t always have a lot of time (and patience) and it always feels so good to finish a project! This project also does not require a ton of materials, and you don’t have to make it into a keychain. I just thought that it added a nice touch! This pattern is intended to be a simple design that any beginner can make, BUT still is Disney themed and fun! I highly recommend checking out this blog…

    How to Curl Yarn

I recently got to make my very first couple set, a bride and a groom. My client was a recently engaged bride to be and fell in love with my dolls on Facebook. She wanted a bride and groom set to have for her upcoming wedding as a gift for her future husband and decoration at their wedding. For such a special occasion, I wanted to make sure she received exactly what she wanted so I made sure to ask her about everything from the dress shape to the hair color. She wanted a big ball gown dress (excellent choice), and brown hair for both the bride and groom. She…
